Feb 03, 2017 – Balfour Beatty has secured planning consent from Hackney and Tower Hamlets councils for the construction of 300 homes at Olympic Park in London.

The 300 homes are the first phase of a proposed 1,500-home development at the park. The project will be delivered by Balfour Beatty’s investments unit in association with housing firm Places for People.

Over a third of the homes to be built will be affordable and a further third will be for private rent, while the rest will be for private sale.

The new neighbourhood, located by the Lee canal, will be known as East Wick & Sweetwater. Work on phase one is expected to commence in 2017 and be completed in 2019.

Balfour Beatty finances, develops, builds, and maintains infrastructure in the UK and internationally.
