Boskalis secures €60m contract for Stockholm Norvik Port in Sweden
July 22, 2017 – Royal Boskalis Westminster has secured a contract worth €60m from Ports of Stockholm to build the quay wall for the new Stockholm Norvik Port in Sweden.
Stockholm Norvik Port, featuring seven berths for container ships and RoRo ferries, will be constructed in Norvikudden located 60km south of Stockholm. It will serve as the new freight port for rolling goods and containers.
As per the design of the Port of Stockholm, Boskalis will construct 1,100m of quay wall whose depth will vary between 16.5m and 10.5m.
Part of the quay wall will be built by installing heavy precast concrete elements produced by Boskalis with the assistance of a large crane.
Work on the project will begin in the autumn of 2017 while the completion is scheduled in the spring of 2020.
Earlier, Boskalis also completed land reclamation activities for the new Stockholm Norvik Port, between September 2016 and March 2017.
