China chooses site for new city
July 20, 2017 – The site has been chosen for a new city that will be built near Wuhan in China.
The new city of the Yangtze River will be built to the northeast of Wuhan, the municipal government has announced.
The city will be built in three phases, with the first kicking off soon in the Chenjiajia-Wuhu area, with an expected area of 30 to 50 square kilometres.
Plans for the city were initially proposed at the beginning of this year. The local authority said that the project will help promote Wuhan worldwide and that the city will be an exemplar for implementing the new development concepts
