Consortium wins $75M traffic improvement contract in Malaysia
May 12, 2017 – Gadang CRFG Consortium, a joint venture between Gadang Engineering and CRFG Malaysia, has won a RM327.91M ($75.4M) traffic dispersion and improvement contract in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
TRX City awarded the two-year contract, which forms part of a wider plan by Kuala Lumpur city hall (DBKL) and the federal government to improve the traffic flow along Jalan Tun Razak and nearby areas.
The project aims to lower traffic loading on Jalan Bukit Bintang and Jalan Tun Razak by around 27%.
The scope of work includes earthworks, foundation works, underground reinforced concrete road structure, elevated roadway and at-grade roadway, and associated works for access roads to and from the TRX development.
Azmar Talib, TRX City CEO, said: “These additional highways and road access into TRX, together with the underground MRT interchange station and comfortable, convenient pedestrian walkways, also offer greater connectivity to the existing city centre and the rest of Greater KL.”
