CPB Contractors wins M80 Ring Road upgrade contract in Australia
October 31, 2019 – CIMIC Group company CPB Contractors has been awarded design and construction contract to upgrade the northern section of M80 Ring Road in Melbourne, Australia.
Under the contract, CPB Contractors will be responsible for upgrading a part of Melbourne’s M80 Ring Road. It is located between Sydney Road and Edgars Road, approximately 14km north of the Melbourne CBD.
Funding for the upgrade will be provided by the Victorian and Australian Governments while the contract is expected to generate a revenue stream of approximately A$331m ($227m) for CPB.

“Drawing on our significant expertise and strong teams of people, CPB Contractors will safely and efficiently complete this vital piece of infrastructure for the community. We are pleased to be selected to deliver this project for the Australian and Victorian Governments.”
The upgrade wok is expected to increase capacity, reduce congestion as well as improve safety for drivers.

The scope of work includes the widening and realignment of ramps, structural works, construction of additional lanes, installation of a smart freeway management system, street lighting, traffic barriers, noise walls and landscaping.
CPB Contractors plans to commence construction in early 2020 and compete in early 2023.
The M80 Upgrade project involves widening on and off ramps and installation of new freeway management system along 38km of road from Laverton North to Greensborough.
