EGGER to build $700m manufacturing facility in North Carolina
July 27, 2017 – EGGER, an Austrian wood-based materials manufacturer, has unveiled plans to construct a new manufacturing facility in North Carolina, US.
With a total investment of $700m, the new facility will enable the company to better serve North American market and continue global growth. The project is expected to create nearly 770 jobs in the region.
Located in Davidson County, the new facility will be a futuristic particleboard manufacturing plant that will further improve access for architects, designers, wholesalers and furniture industry customers to EGGER’s wood-based products and designs.
With an initial investment of $300m, the first phase of the development will take place over the next six years, creating 400 jobs.
Construction on the multi-phased project is likely to commence at the end of 2018, pending receipt of various approvals and permits, while production is scheduled to start in 2020.
