HLG wins $168m contract to build five residential towers in Dubai
July 13, 2017 – HLG Contracting has won a contract to build five 16-storey residential towers as part of the preparations for Expo 2020 Dubai.
The contract, valued at AED619m ($168.5m) was awarded by Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) for the construction of the EXPO Village Parcels 10 & 11 residential towers. The residential buildings are being developed and managed by DWTC.
Through a mutual three-floor podium, three of the towers will be connected while the other two towers are also co-joined through a shared three-storey podium. The total development has a total built-up area of 155,000 sq m.
The scope of the work includes concrete frames, masonry, facades, fit-out, external works, and provisional sums for other aspects including the mechanical, electrical and plumbing installations and a façade cleaning system.
Construction is expected to begin in July 2017, and is scheduled to be completed by June 2019, in time to host guests and participants from the countries participating in Expo 2020 Dubai, which opens in October 2020.
