John Sisk & Son wins Curragh Racecourse redevelopment contract in Ireland
September 19, 2017 – Construction specialist John Sisk & Son has been awarded a contract by Curragh Racecourse to construct the new Curragh Racecourse facilities, a horse racing venue in Ireland.
The Curragh Racecourse, which is situated on the Curragh plain in County Kildare, between the towns of Newbridge and Kildare, will redeveloped with the a new grandstand that includes corporate facilities, restaurants, bars and superb viewing facilities for the public.
The new Curragh has been designed by Grimshaw Architects, in association with Newenham Mulligan & Associates and design and engineering partner Aecom.
The redevelopment plan also involves construction of new arrivals and reception area which will include a brand new visitor attraction.
Additionally, a new parade ring will be developed while a new weigh room will provide even better facilities for the jockeys.
Construction is expected to be completed by the end of 2018, in time to launch for the 2019 racing season.
