NCC to build 50 apartments for Danica in Denmark
August 23, 2018 – Swedish construction company NCC has signed an agreement with Danica Pension to build 50 apartments in Hellerup, just north of Copenhagen, Denmark.
The order is valued at approximately SEK520m ($57m).
The objective is to offer residents an opportunity to live in the centre of the city, close to a large recreation area and the coast.
NCC Building Denmark head Palle Rasmussen said: “We are delighted to be building these apartments for Danica. The agreement is the result of a close and trusting dialogue and we look forward to beginning work to realise the visions drawn up for this beautiful area.”
In December 2015, Danica Pension acquired the land at Tuborg Syd from Carlsberg and is now the developer of these exclusive housing units on the site in the centre of Hellerup.
The area has been transformed from industrial land into a residential area in recent decades and the new development involving Danica and NCC is the final stage in this transformation.
Danica Pension head of property development Robert Nellemann said: “We are pleased to have signed the agreement with NCC for the first stage of the historic construction of tenant-owner apartments in Hellerup.
“We have positive experiences of NCC as a contractual partner in the development of Tuborg Syd, and we have used early involvement, which resulted in a high-quality property project that will benefit the future apartment owners, our pension customers and Hellerup.
“We look forward to starting this major construction project and developing this highly attractive part of Greater Copenhagen, which we believe will become a landmark for Hellerup.”
Construction will begin in 2018 and is scheduled to be completed in 2021.
Subject to the issuing of building permit, the order will be registered in the NCC Building business area in the fourth quarter of 2018.
NCC is one of the major companies in construction, infrastructure and property development in the Nordic region.
