New MD to lead growth plan at Watson & Cox

September 03, 2019 – Watson & Cox Construction is targeting a 40% rise in turnover as a new managing director takes the helm at the Northamptonshire based contractor

Darren Wallace has been promoted to MD after 11 years as Construction Director.

He succeeds Bill Gardiner who will remain a director of the business for the rest of the year before becoming a consultant.

Wallace has been instrumental in creating the company’s new Five Year Strategic Plan which targets 40% strategic and controlled growth during the period.

Wallace said: “Our strategy also embraces a culture of organic growth and continued investments in development and digital technology.

“We continue to encourage innovation and staff development and strive to increase the profile of our organisation locally and that of the wider construction industry generally, promoting career opportunity and attraction to young talent.

“These are exciting times at Watson & Cox Construction and I am proud to lead our strong and dedicated team into the next era,  beginning in our 50th year.”

Watson & Cox specialises in the education, commercial, residential, industrial and healthcare and leisure sectors.

The firm had a turnover last year of £13m.

It’s latest win is a £4m+ residential and retail scheme on St Giles Street in Northampton where work will start in November.
