Oxford council green lights work at Jacob Rees-Mogg college

Oxford

February 14, 2019 – Four new buildings set for Trinity College

Oxford city council has given the green light to a cluster of four new residential and teaching buildings at Trinity College.

The scheme (pictured) has been designed by Adam Architecture to sit among its surrounding buildings and landscape.

It will replace a 1960s building so as not to infringe on the college’s grade II-listed lawn.

The development will deliver 46 student bedrooms, an auditorium, a suite of teaching rooms, a new library wing and a rooftop garden.

Trinity is in the centre of Oxford and has buildings dating from the 13thcentury – despite being founded in the Tudor era.

Notable alumni from the college include Toiry MP Jacob Rees-Mogg and Philippe, King of the Belgians.

The job will be project managed by Bidwells, with Gleeds as cost manager, Hoare Lea as M&E consultant and Price & Myers as structural engineer.

Across the road from Trinity, Beard is building an Amanda Levete-designed scheme at Wadham College.
