Ramboll wins role on $544m waterfront community in Abu Dhabi
September 19, 2017 – Consulting engineer Ramboll has been awarded a contract by the UAE-based real estate developer Imkan, to serve as the lead consultant for “Makers District” development in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
Spanning over an area of 18 hectares, the AED2bn ($544.5m) waterfront community includes a combination of residential, hospitality, commercial and retail space.
Under the contract, Ramboll will deliver lead consultancy services on the first phase of Makers District, working together with architect firms BIG and MVRDV.
The scheme, which is slated to be completed in 2020, will feature more than 1,000 residential units, 11,000 sq m of commercial and retail space.
Ramboll group executive director Soren Holm Johansen said: “This is a significant win for our team in the UAE.
