Vinci Construction

July 06, 2017 – A joint venture of Vinci Construction and Spie Batignolles has won a civil engineering contract worth €156m for the construction of Noisy-Champs railway station in France.

The scope of the project also includes construction of a carriage storage area, and a road bridge over the RER A regional express line tracks.

The work also involves the construction of the frame, glazed facades and various pedestrian walkways including stairs and footbridges.

The new station will connect Line 16, Line 11 and the RER A regional express line. Work will commence in the late summer.

The building’s unique architecture by Jean-Marie Duthilleul includes a helical dome. The dome and the metal walkways will require 1,650 tonnes of steel. The project will create 50 construction jobs.

Additionally, a stormwater basin will be built at the site in a bid to protect the environment. All recovered water will be recycled to supply the concrete and mud plants for the site.
