CH2M to provide design services for Nevada interchange project

May 20, 2017 – US-based engineering services firm CH2M has been selected by the Nevada Department of Transportation to provide environmental and preliminary design services for the reconstruction of interchange in Reno, Nevada. The project will include improvements on a total of 10 service interchanges, one system to system interchange, braided/collector distributor systems and multiple local roads.

As part of the contract, CH2M will help NDOT to seep up the delivery of the NEPA document for the project in less than three and a half years; reduce right-of-way displacements and acquisitions, and utility impacts; identify project-specific risks; develop a comprehensive stakeholder and public outreach plan; improve safety, operations and mobility in Reno and surrounding areas; and enhance the aesthetics though the core of the community.

Upon completion, the project is expected to meet 2040 travel demands, decrease congestion and improve safety.

CH2M North American highways and bridges practice leader Susan Martinovich said: “The Reno Spaghetti Bowl reconstruction is regionally significant, politically sensitive and technically complex.

“We understand how to get these types of improvements built because we’re passionate about improving our world. In this case, we’ll not only improve the commute for Nevada drivers and visitors, but also make the environmental and preliminary design process quicker and easier for NDOT.”
