Contractor chosen for Ireland Bolands Quay project
Mar 17, 2017 – Bam Contractors has been awarded a contract by the Bolands Quay Development Group for the construction of the Bolands Quay Development in Dublin’s south docklands.
The 36,851 sq m project, designed by Burke Kennedy Doyle, will feature three new buildings comprising office, residential, retail and cultural space, as well as restaurants and cafés.
The old stone mill buildings will be converted for commercial and residential use, while two towers, 12- and 13-storeys high, will comprise office space.
In addition, a number of protected mill buildings will be restored and a new civic plaza and pedestrian bridge will be constructed.
Hegarty Demolition Limited carried out the demolition and enabling works in 2016, which involved stabilisation and protection of structures, internal strip out, service diversions and demolition works. It took them eight months to demolish the 1950s-built silos.
The National Asset Management Agency provided €170M for the project. When completed, Bolands Quay will accommodate up to 2,500 workers
