Eiffage to build €135m power plant in Chile
July 06, 2017 – Eiffage, via its subsidiaries Eiffage Concessions and Eiffage Energia, is set to construct the Huatacondo photovoltaic power plant in Chile’s Atacama desert.
The new 98MWp facility is expected to generate 70% of the country’s electric power from renewable sources by 2050.
Eiffage Energia will be responsible for constructing and also maintaining the plant for 30 years for €138m. The project, which forms part Chile’s Energia 2050 programme, will entail an investment of around €135m.
Eiffage has joined forces with Japanese firms Sojitz and Shikoku Electric Power to fund the project.
“The funding package comprises equity provided by the three partners, bank lending covered by the Japanese export credit agency (NEXI) and a commercial credit line,” Eiffage said.
