Hilton breaks ground on Tempo by Hilton hotel in Kentucky, US

March 13, 2020 – Hilton, a US-based hospitality company, has broken ground on its new Tempo by Hilton hotel in Louisville, Kentucky.

The 130-key, six-storey hotel will be located in NuLu neighborhood, at 710 East Jefferson Street and will be co-owned by First Hospitality and Weyland Ventures.

Hilton stated that Tempo by Hilton property had broken ground in less than eight weeks from the brand’s launch and claims that it is one of the shortest time periods from a brand’s announcement to groundbreaking in its history.

Hilton senior vice president and new brand development global head Phil Cordell said: “We’ve seen an incredible response from owners who are excited about Tempo by Hilton, and we are working together with them to bring this new offering to market in record time.

“The brand delivers a unique blend of elevated yet within reach offerings that have been specifically developed to appeal to the burgeoning class of modern achievers, and we believe that the NuLu neighbourhood is exactly the kind of place where Tempo by Hilton will not only fit in but thrive.”

Furthermore, the brand will continue to exhibit its deal momentum, with over 30 confirmed deals across cities such as New York, Maui, Boston and Washington DC. There are 40 other deals in various stages of development.

Once completed, the new Tempo by Hilton Louisville NuLu hotel will include a rooftop bar where patrons can sip in style in the surrounding skyline.

The guestrooms have been designed as welcoming treats with the brand’s signature Power Up and Power Down collections to help guests in getting energised for the day and winding down for the night. Other amenities include flexible meeting space and a fitness centre.

The new hotel will also offer complimentary coffee and tea via the in-lobby Fuel Bar as well as a range of additional food and beverage options such as innovative café-style offering serving a variety of smoothies, lattes, breakfast sandwiches, bowls and more, limited market and in-lobby bar serving both spirited and non-spirited craft cocktails.

First Hospitality asset management vice president Sam Schwartz said: “As part of the next generation leading First Hospitality, a long-time Hilton partner, I’m beyond proud that we are breaking ground on the very first hotel of this next-generation brand.

“We couldn’t be more excited for this property to be going up in NuLu, a neighbourhood known for its rich arts and culinary scenes.”
