Skanska to build care facility at Kungalv Hospital in Sweden

July 12, 2017 – Skanska has bagged a SEK940m ($111.3m) contract from real estate company Vastfastigheter to build a care facility at Kungalv Hospital in Sweden.

The scope of contract includes the construction of the seven-storey care centre, covering an area of about 33,000 sq m. The facility will feature 280 single-family care rooms.

Earlier in 2016, Skanska inked a strategic partnership agreement with Vastfastigheter to develop and build the New Kungalv Hospital.

The proposed facility will be certified as per the environmental classification Miljobyggnad Gold, which is administered by the Swedish Green Building Council.

Construction on the project has already commenced and will be concluded in two handovers during the third quarter of 2019 and the third quarter of 2020.

With operations in building construction and civil engineering in Sweden, Norway and Finland, Skanska develops residential and commercial property projects in select home markets.
